Supermarket News reports that during a recent panel discussion at the American Bakers Association Convention, Sam’s Club executive Shawn Baldwin mentioned the positive effects that Pinterest, a new social media network, is having on Sam’s Club.

Recently a recipe that incorporates Sam’s Club ingredients attracted a “surge of interest,” with Baldwin remarking: “If you really want to make an impact, get a recipe on Pinterest that uses one of your products.”

Pinterest users showcase favorite photographs to their online “boards,” allowing friends, family and the general public to see their current interests. Many home cooks flock to the site, where beautiful photographs of food, often linked to online recipes, abound.
